Kanchan Poudel came to international education from an IT background, joining a consultancy as a Front Desk Officer during her undergraduate studies before moving into counselling. That grounding in documentation and process shapes how she approaches every application: carefully, with close attention to detail, and with a preference for reading profiles thoroughly rather than routing students toward the most popular institutions. Over 8 years, she has counselled students across UK, Australia, USA, and New Zealand, covering university selection, undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, student profile assessment, scholarship options, interview preparation, and SOP guidance.
Students come to her because she is approachable enough that they share concerns they might not raise with other counsellors. One student with a low GPA who had lost hope of studying in the UK came to her for help. She worked through interview preparation with the student, coaching her through two attempts until she cleared the interview and received her visa. Another student was applying to Canada with a dependent after a previous Australian visa refusal. She rebuilt the application strategy and strengthened the documentation to address the refusal directly, and the Canadian visa was granted.
Kanchan holds a BCA and is British Council Certified. She has 8 years of experience in international education at AECC Global. She works in Nepali, English, and Hindi.
