  • Choose Test Type: To start the booking process after logging in, click the "Book PTE Academic" option. To take the test, choose "PTE Academic" from the list of opportunities.
  • Select the PTE Test Centre: Choose from the various test centres and enter your selected test location on the following page. The forthcoming test dates and times for the chosen centre will be shown on the website.
  • Select the Test Time and Date: Look over the calendar and select the test date and time that work best for you. Make sure the time and date you've chosen work for you because there will be extra costs for modifications.
  • Provide Identification: Enter the information from the legitimate government-issued identification (a passport, for example) that you want to bring with you on test day. Your ID name and the name you gave during registration must match.
  • Finalise Payment: Go to the payment page after reviewing the test booking data. Location-specific PTE Academic test booking costs vary, however they often fall between ₹ 18,000 (inclusive of 18% GST). To complete your PTE test booking, complete the secure online payment.
  • Get Confirmation: Following successful payment, you will receive an email including all the information regarding the reservation of your PTE Academic test, including the PTE test centre address, the day, time, and your registration number.

Things to Remember on PTE Test Day

Remember the following to make sure your PTE Academic test goes smoothly and successfully:

  • Arrive Early: Reach the test centre at least 30 minutes before your slot. This gives you enough time to check in and complete ID verification without stress.
  • Carry the Correct ID: Bring the same government-issued ID (usually your passport) used during registration. The name on your ID must exactly match your PTE booking details.
  • Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable, layered clothing so you can adjust to the room temperature. Avoid anything noisy or distracting.
  • Leave Personal Items Outside: Personal belongings such as phones, bags, and watches are not allowed in the test room. You must store them in the lockers provided.
  • Know the Test Format: Review the PTE Academic structure before test day. Understanding the question types and timing helps you stay confident and prepared.
  • Stay Calm: Use simple relaxation techniques—deep breathing or light stretching—to manage nerves. Remind yourself that you are ready.
  • Follow Instructions: Listen carefully to the PTE test centre staff and follow all security rules, including ID checks and locker procedures.
  • Manage Your Time: Keep an eye on the screen timer. Work steadily so you can complete every section within the given time.

PTE test booking is quick and fully online, requiring only a few basic eligibility criteria such as minimum age and a valid government-issued ID. Once you create your Pearson account, you can choose your preferred test centre, select a suitable date and time, upload your ID, and complete the payment. With multiple PTE test centres available across India, finding a convenient location is easy.

With the right preparation and a clear understanding of the test-day essentials, you can approach the PTE with confidence and achieve the scores you need for study, work, or migration. If you need personalised support or want to customise your PTE preparation plan, contact an AECC expert today.

She covers TOEFL, SAT, ACT, OET, GRE and GMAT, writes on standalone course guides across disciplines, and covers the application documents students need including Letters of Recommendation, Statements of Purpose, academic essays and CVs.

Her articles are written around the questions Indian students consistently ask during consultations. Which test gives a student from India the best chance at a particular university. How preparation timelines work for students coming from Indian schooling systems. What a particular course looks like for Indian applicants across different countries. What makes an SOP stand out for an Indian student applying to an international institution. These are the specifics that generic guides do not address.

Her articles across the AECC platform have been read over 650,000 times. The breadth of topics she covers reflects the range of questions Indian students bring to consultations, from which exam to take first to how to write a CV that works for an international university application. She holds an MBA in Marketing and is based at AECC's Tamil Nadu offices.
